Not much has been revealed about the upcoming phone’s features, but it’s known that it will include some popular features from the original Nothing Phone 2 smartphone. This suggests the new phone 2a will be a scaled down version of the original offering. There’s also hope that the price of the Phone 2a might be lower than that of the Phone 2.

“All the Phone 2a has been designed with Nothing’s skill and craftsmanship, zeroing in on conveying a definitive everyday cell phone insight while multiplying down on gathering clients’ necessities. The Phone 2a, codenamed AeroDactyl, leverages some of the most beloved Phone 2 features, ensuring clear upgrades over the Phone 1 at every turn,” the company said.

Just a reminder, the Nothing Phone 2 was announced with a starting price of ₹44,999 in India. However, there’s hope that the price of the Phone 2a will be less than ₹40,000, ideally around ₹35,000, considering the original device is currently selling at a discounted price of ₹36,999.

Besides the name of the new device, the company has also shared that it’s launching the Glyph Developer Kit, which will empower third-party Android apps to control the Glyph interface.

Now, turning to leaks, rumors suggest that the Nothing Phone 2a might feature an OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a feature commonly found in mid-range phones in India. It’s rumored that the screen size will be approximately 6.7 inches. Under the hood, it could be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC paired with a standard 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Expectations are that it will run on the latest Android 14 OS. When it comes to the camera setup, rumors hint at a dual-camera system, with one lens boasting a 50-megapixel resolution.
